Written by ASD co-founder Brian Curtiss, this article provides a survey and summary of a wide range of successful hyperspectral sensing projects. Examples presented include: remote evaluation of cross-country and coastal zone trafficability (e.g. soil bearing strength); shallow water bathymetry; differentiation of natural and manmade (including camouflage) materials; camouflage design; detection of disturbed surfaces as a potential indicator of buried IEDs/landmines; identification of armored glass; and selection and detection of taggants (e.g. for search and rescue applications).
