Boulder, Colo., October 15, 2009 — ASD Inc. and IEEE GRSS present the Art, Science and Applications of Reflectance Spectroscopy (ASARS) Symposium February 23-25, 2010, in Boulder, Colorado USA. The symposium is a unique scientific event highlighting advances in the use of reflectance spectroscopy featuring new and different applications and cutting-edge techniques. Co-sponsored by ASD Inc. and the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), a member organization of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), this one-of-a-kind event is open to all with an interest in reflectance spectroscopy.
The ASARS Symposium brings together 40 internationally recognized researchers, scientists, and engineers from a variety of disciplines, providing an unprecedented opportunity for a very diverse and prestigious community to gather and interact. Two days of plenary sessions will showcase unique applications of reflectance spectroscopy, including studies in planetary surfaces, snow and ice, vegetation and soils, pulp and paper processing, mineral analysis and metallurgical processing, archeology, chemometrics, and more.
The event opens with a meet and greet networking reception. The second evening is dedicated to a poster session, including a student competition. The symposium culminates in a gala banquet celebrating ASD Inc.’s 20th anniversary, with keynote address by John S. MacDonald of Day4Energy, Canada, and the Student Poster Competition awards.
