Remote Sensing Applications — Atmospheric Modeling

FieldSpec® 3 in action - Atmospheric Modeling

Atmospheric correction is an essential step in the analysis of spectral imagery. Spectral atmospheric observations are also essential for climate and ecosystem energy balance studies. Studies of outdoor lighting, transportation safety lamps, and military illumination sources often require observations of long-path transmission through the atmosphere. Existing atmospheric models are sometimes sufficient, but in a universe of new observations, model enhancement or even new full model development are sometimes required. ASD FieldSpec® spectrometers are available as spectroradiometers and with the necessary optional calibrations and accessories for a variety of spectral atmospheric studies.
