Reflectance spectroscopy is the technique that underlies remote sensing and non-destructive materials measurement. Over the last three decades, technology has evolved significantly while concomitantly a large number of diverse applications have been developed. This evolution has spread reflectance spectroscopy techniques into applications from planetary exploration to over-the- conveyor-belt measurements for process control.

ASD Inc. and IEEE GRSS present a unique two-day scientific symposium, bringing together a very diverse group of researchers and scientists from a variety of disciplines, using reflectance spectroscopy and radiometry in a multitude of measurement and analysis applications.

Two full days of plenary sessions featuring forty internationally recognized speakers from 11 countries, on four continents:

and more, including an evening poster session with Student Poster Competition. The symposium culminates in a gala closing banquet celebrating ASD Inc.’s 20th anniversary with the keynote address by John S. MacDonald, Day4Energy, Canada, and Student Competition awards.

Poster session participation in Art, Science and Applications of Reflectance Spectroscopy is open to all individuals interested in, or currently utilizing the technology. Both undergraduate and graduate students are particularly encouraged to present and or participate in the conference as part of the Student

Prize Poster Competition. Five finalists will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement, and three prizes will be presented:

  • First Prize US$ 500.00
  • Second Prize US$ 300.00
  • Third Prize US$ 200.00

Poster Submission Deadlines:

Abstracts: January 15, 2010
