General Chemical Analysis
Chemical applications, whether in manufacturing or scientific research, require precise determination and characterization of chemical components. Traditional laboratory techniques such as titration and chromatography require time consuming sample preparation, expensive process chemistry, testing time, and produce chemical and sample waste. Near-infrared (NIR) spectrometry is an established quantitative chemical analysis technique for testing the chemical components and purity of many raw or in-process materials, and finished product. NIR is a proven and cost-effective, easy to implement platform, offering a practical alternative to time-consuming and costly traditional laboratory analyses.
Vis/NIR spectroscopy is the ideal tool for chemical analysis of most compounds—solid, powder, slurry, or liquid—and offers a safe, reliable, convenient, and environmentally friendly technology for qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis with:
- Rapid, real-time results
- Research grade analysis
- Little or no sample preparation
- Measure multiple constituents simultaneously
- In-situ and non-destructive sampling

Quantitative information can be derived from peak intensity, giving a direct indication of the amount and concentration of material present. Vis/NIR technology is adaptable to your production requirements and provides the ability to test more frequently at a lower cost. More testing equates to better data and greater product knowledge, allowing for tighter process control, reduced risk of out-of-spec product, and an improved bottom line.
