Specmin 3.1 is the latest version of SII's spectral data management system for mineral spectroscopy that includes an extensive and dynamic library of:

• Mineral reference spectra
• wavelength search and match tables
• physical properties of all mineral species in the data base
• literature references for the near-infrared active mineral phases.

Specmin is compatible with spectra collected on all ASD spectrometers. Spectra contained in the Specmin database can also be used with hyperspectral remote sensing image analysis packages as ground truth information.

Because Specmin offers such a variety of different minerals from a myriad of environments, it is usually possible to find representative and diagnostic end member spectra to match nearly any unknown geologic sample.
