Training

ASD offers a variety of training options that cover basic to advanced chemometrics and field spectroscopy techniques to fit your needs. Customized training can take place at your site on your equipment, here at the ASD Facility, or in one of our two day economy group training packages in Boulder, Colorado. Please check with your ASD sales representative for more information about customized training.

ASD Chemometrics & Instrumentation Training — Boulder, Colorado
Recommended for anyone who uses an ASD instrument and chemometrics software and wants to enhance the value and utility of their instrument by learning more about qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and how to turn raw data into real-time usuable and valuable information.

Training sessions are limited in size in order to maximize the benefits to each attendee. This training includes instruction and demonstration of the basic operating features of an ASD spectrometer with an emphasis on:

  • Chemometrics Analysis
  • Regression Analysis
  • Data Conversion
  • Data Import and Model Building

ASD Instrumentation Training for Remote Sensing Applications — Boulder, Colorado
Recommended for anyone who uses an ASD instrument and wishes to know more about instrument operation and design, collection of spectra in the field or who needs to incorporate ASD data into programs such as ENVI®.

This training includes instruction and demonstration of the basic operating features of an ASD spectrometer with an emphasis on:

  • ASD instrument design and characteristics
  • ASD instrument setup and use of accessory equipment
  • Use of RS3™ and ViewSpec™ Pro software to collect and post process spectra
  • Collection design and field methods
  • Incorporation of ASD spectra into programs such as ENVI®
  • Introduction to using chemometrics analysis software
  • Discussion of specific application considerations

Customized Training

Customer Site Training

On-location training includes the same material as the ASD Chemometrics & Instrumentation Training or Instrumentation Training for Remote Sensing Applications options, but is billed per day plus travel expenses for the ASD Trainer.
 

Basic System Installation and Orientation

Recommended for new ASD instrument users
Training for up to seven people in one group for one eight-hour day. This training includes instruction and demonstration of the basic operating features of an ASD spectrometer. Includes:

  • System set-up
  • Overview of system
  • Indico™ Pro software training
  • IQ/OQ installation (if required)
  • Performance validation
